Why do I keep getting error messages when I try to take a photo of my cheque?

You may not have been able to capture all the information we need. Take another photo of your cheque and follow this advice: 

  • Put the cheque on a plain, dark background
  • Make sure the lighting is not too dark or too bright
  • Show all four corners of the cheque in the photo 
  • Hold your camera directly over the cheque – not at an angle 
  • Try to keep the camera still
  • Make sure the lens is clean and clear
  • If you have a protective case on your device, try removing it, because sometimes a case can interfere with the image capture
